Yes, it's hard to believe but we're now less than five weeks out and things are really starting to ramp up ...

Our international kite artists are all confirmed and each of them will be facilitating pre-festival public kite making workshops ...

We are very honoured to welcome Mikio Toki joining us from Japan. It's around 20yrs since Mikio-san was at a New Zealand kite festival and we are very much looking forward to him sharing his vast cultural and historical knowledge of Japanese kite design and kite making. Mikio is one of the last few traditional Japanese kite makers still active. His spectactular kites are all hand painted and each one is a work of art.

We are delighted to have Tony Rice joining us again from Australia. Tony is both an artist and passionate environmentalist and his kitesare a great medium for both his passions.

The concept for the original Otaki Kite Festival in 2013 was the brainchild of Yvonne de Mille, global kite artist & maker, who now calls Otaki home. Yvonne will once again be an integral part of the festival with her stunning kite designs.

And let's not forget Peter Lynn Kites of Ashburton and NZKA fliers from all around New Zealnd will help fill the sky with kites of all shapes, sizes and designs!
