By car

From SH1, turn west at the round-about at the northern end of the State Highway 1 Shopping area (at the BP Service Station), head along Mill Road, through the main township and onto Tasman Road until you reach the beach front. The Kite Festival is directly in front of you and to the right.

There is generous parking available at the beach and surrounding streets. 

Limited off-street car parks are available to the north of the Otaki Surf Club building and opposite where Tasman Road meets Marine Parade.  Please be guided by our Volunteer Car Parking team and please drive slowly in these areas.

Disability Parking

Several parks are available for those with Disability Stickers in the car park opposite where Tasman Road meets Marine Parade. 

By train and bus

The FREE Kite Bus to Otaki Beach is happening again!
Buses will depart Waikanae Train Station on the hour from 10am (final departure 4pm).
Buses will depart Otaki Beach on the half-hour from 10.30am (final departure 4.30pm).

Township-Beach shuttle bus - no parking hassle with drop-off right at the beach

Park down-town and/or walk to Te Wananga o Raukawa - to catch the "on demand" shuttle bus to the beach & return.
